PITCHFORK REBELLION

Pitchfork Rebellion is a not so friendly mix of light metal and SoCal punk rock - the illegitimate heir of Black Sabbath and Black Flag. Less metal than Sabbath, more melody than Flag. Pitchfork Rebellion was once classified by the National Cliché Society as “between a place and hard rock”.

SVEN SODERLUND

Sven Soderlund first got his start with playing the guitar at the mere age of 9 yrs old. Growing up with parents as musicians who were partial to 60's & 70's rock music, it certainly helped steer Sven in the right direction of having good influences around to nurture him into a local rock legend.

Sven has played in numerous bands and has done cameo live performances & recordings in the last 25 years with Morticious, Lazz Rockit, Something Scaley, Heathen, Hail Satan-Mercyful Fate tribute, and Heroes-Kiss tribute. The newly reformed Mercenary SF lineup is with Dave White/ vocalist from Heathen, Andy Galeon ex-Death Angel drummer, and Art Liboon former bassist for Mordred.

TOM EATON

BRICE TABISH

On the west coast of Canada, on Vancouver Island, lies the small town of Campbell River. From here comes 19-year old guitar phenom, Brice Tabish.

At one end of the spectrum, Tabish has been hailed as the west coast's neoclassical-inspired prodigy. However, the scope of this talent cannot only be defined be his innovative and frenetic hard rock virtuosity. He shows the precocious breadth of his musical dexterity in the soulful, finger-picking, "slow-hand" guitar work that's made him a welcome player at historic places, such as Vancouver's famous Yale Pub, all the way down to Los Angeles' Rainbow Bar and Grill

Brice is presently negotiating with a Vancouver studio interested in producing a full album of his original works. As of Dec 1,2010, Vancouver will become home base, as this young artist continues on his musical journey. Stay tuned at myspace.com/bricetabish and lymozeen.com

MARK ALLEN LANOUE

Mark was originally a product of the New Jersey music scene. While playing in bands on the Jersey scene, Mark fired off audition material to Ozzy Osbourne and Ronnie James Dio. Mark's fellow New Jersey axe slinger from Zyris, Zak Wylde, got the job with the Oz.

After playing and writing with several bands in the NJ/NY tristate area and recording a single with Shane Keiste (Elvis, Legend Movie soundtrack), he then joined forces with Dean Fasano (Message, Richie Sambora group, Jon Bon Jovi, and Prophet) to write and record. One of the songs, Fine Line, which transpired from working with Dean Fasano became the title track on the 1998 MESSAGE release. Mark then moved on to write, record, and tour with Persian Risk out of Orlando Florida. The band was fronted by vocalist Carl Sentence (Krokus, Geezer Butler Band, and Paul Chapman's Ghost). While Mark was an active member of the Florida music scene, he studied with vocal coach, Ron Feldman (Vocal coach for Jani Lane of Warrant).

Mark had been involved with several projects with Clyde Holly and Holly House Recording Studios, where he then was asked to join the band BILOXI with Clyde Holly (Vocals), Rob Gronkoski (drummer), Dave Melton (Bass). Tragedy struck in 2005-2006, first with the destrustion of Hurricane Katrina and then with the passing of BILOXI's founder, Clyde Holly. BILOXI III "I the Wake of the Storm" was half way completed when Mark took over the vocalist spot for Rob and Mark to finish the CD that would then be supported by a spot at ROCKLAHOMA 2008.

It was then established that the ROCKLAHOMA line up for BILOXI had an amazing Chemistry that brought Mark back into the studio with his long time drummer and friend, Rob Gronkoski, and his new band Chasing Karma. The new CD from Chasing Karma, "COSMOCRACY" is slated for an early 2011 release with 14 tracks for Rockin' music. Mark plays every one of his tracks using SFARZO Strings.. Thanks SFARZO for the support and the support of my bandmates Lee Cooley, Dave Melton, Rob Gronkoski, and James Gillies. ROCK ON and SHRED RATTLE AND ROAR!!

Bobby Flurie

BOBBY FLURIE (Bio)
Bobby Flurie was born in New York City, grew up in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, and became a guitar fanatic at age 16, playing some of his first gigs in strip clubs. While attending Peabody Conservatory of Music in the late sixties, where he was classically trained, he realized that he really wanted to play rock and roll, and started playing the D.C. club scene.

It was about that time that he met legendary guitarist Roy Buchanan, who mentored him and helped him develop his musical imagination. Soon after, Bobby was heard by a national booking agent, who recruited him to play with Quicksilver Messenger Service, touring major cities throughout the country.

He then relocated to the San Francisco Bay area where he spent 22 years, working with such acts as Country Joe & The Fish, The Chambers Brothers, The Pointer Sisters, Gary Lewis & the Playboys, Big Brother & the Holding Co., Huey Lewis, and many more. BUZZY MARTIN

Buzzy/Sfarzo Webpage

Buzzy Martin grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, dreaming of becoming a rock star.  He taught himself how to play the guitar and piano and in 1979 moved to northern California to follow his dream.   After years of playing music, Buzzy met his second true calling in the form of a few group-home kids who came out to one of his open mic events in 1993.  At the time, he didn’t even know what a group home was, but soon after that he was introduced to the world of at-risk kids.  A friend passed along Buzzy’s name for a music class for at-risk youth, and the rest is history.

After years of working in juvenile halls, teaching music and spreading his message of “Education not Incarceration,” word spread that the classes were changing kids’ lives and Buzzy was asked to teach a twelve-week music program at San Quentin State Prison.  Three years and five months later, Buzzy finished his final class at the “Q.”

DON’T SHOOT! I’M THE GUITAR MAN is the raw and moving account of Buzzy’s time at San Quentin State Prison where he experienced everything from fear for his own safety to the human connection created by sharing in the transcendent power of music. Buzzy not only gave the inmates at the “Q” something positive to look forward to, he also learned from the inmates the hard truth about life in prison, which he was then able to relate to his juvenile hall students.

Today, after sixteen years of volunteering, Buzzy Martin is still dedicated to the largely overlooked cause of at-risk kids.  His story has and will continue to inspire people to find the good in the people they meet, and to believe in the power of music to change lives.

Mike Burke

Mike - Growing up in Chicago, I really started getting serious about the guitar at 13, first band at 15. At that age we were playing Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, but even then the need to be different, to make songs instead of just playing someone else's music, to create, to play something for the first time that no one has heard before, this is what drove me.
I'm very proud to be the music of Lynch and I'm now very proud to be part of the Sfarzo family as an endorsed artist, the strings that give me my tone.

Don Moore

Don's amazingly powerful, yet beautiful approach to guitar playing has gained him currently over 2,000 online registered fans, over 30,000 site hits and over 40,000 song plays. His debut CD aptly titled “Axe Attack” is selling very well and can be purchased both online and in some local music outlets. Currently Don is working on his upcoming CD writing a lot of new material and spending every moment he can in the studio. Don is also meeting a lot of new contacts within the music industry leading to a list of upcoming interviews, CD reviews and future shows.his inspiration, and above all, entranced in a new dimension of Guitar Wizardry

HELIX

2009 sees the release of Helix’s 14th studio CD entitled “Vagabond Bones” featuring the re-united original 80’s line-up of Greg “Fritz” Hinz, Brent “The Doctor” Doerner, Daryl Gray, and Brian Vollmer, along with newcomer shredder Kaleb Duck.  The CD contains nine previously unreleased studio tracks, one of which features a duet between Brian and Russ Graham of The Killer Dwarfs on the song  “Hung Over But Still Hanging In.”  Most of the songs were co-writes between Brian and Sean Kelly, who now plays guitar for Nelly Furtado.  On four of the tracks, Moe Berg of Pursuit of Happiness was also a co-writer.

As well, in September Brian had his first movie role, albeit a small bit part in the new Trailer Park Boy’s movie Countdown to Liquor Day.  The movie’s premiere took place in Halifax on the first day of the Atlantic Film Festival.  For the event Brian and his wife Lynda, and Brent and Kaleb all flew out for the show, and afterwards got up and performed with the award winning Arkells at the Halifax Metro Center for 1,500 fans.

Exciting things like that have been happening throughout Helix’s 35 year career.  And what a career it’s been!  The band, formed in 1974 in Kitchener, Ontario, has sold over 2,000,000 albums, had four gold and 2 platinum albums, has had a Number One record in the country of Sweden, has toured 19 countries, 3 continents, and played with over 150 of the greatest rock and roll recording acts in the world.  A list of acts the band has played with over the years sounds like a who’s-who of rock & roll:  Motorhead, KISS, Motley Crue, Accept, Girlschool, Heart, Whitesnake, The Scorpions,Megadeath,Mercyful Fate,Quiot Riot,Meatloaf, Ronnie James Dio, and over 100 more!  As well, the band has released many videos over the years, mostly while they were either signed to, or licensed to E.M.I./Capitol.  The have also had many songs on TV shows and movies:

Today Helix continues to play in excess of fifty shows a year.   Earlier this summer they played Rocklahoma outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma with Great White, Twisted Sister, and many more famous 80’s acts.   The band is already booked for several 2010 festivals.

Anvil Chorus

Anvil Chorus. The name itself suggests something a little more than the typical hard rock band; something intelligent and complex, even sophisticated -- and they were. Anvil Chorus made a thinking man's metal. There was such a thing and it wasn't thought of as a style, just good music that put some structure and challenge into a normally repetitive form.

Clearly influenced by the prevailing titans of progressive rock and heavy metal of the day, Anvil Chorus was a fount of unique inspirations. A group of talented individuals, half of them multi-instrumentalists and all of them bringing to the table a creative flair. The composition, arrangement and melodic skills enjoyed a harmonic and contrapuntal implementation that was delivered crushingly… hugely. The sound was Big with a capital “B”. The guitar harmonies, keyboard wizardry and bottled-lightning rhythm section were a powerful collision.

Heavy riffs, catchy melodies, belting vocals and a refined aesthetic completed the signature sound; Anvil Chorus, in the early 1980’s, rightly earned a buzz of their own for their unique and exquisite style, which to this day continues to be regarded as significant and influential. Nearly 3 decades after the group's formation and a couple years after their recent reformation, this legendary underground San Francisco progressive heavy metal band unleashes their first full length debut album for the Rockadrome label. Consisting solely of newly recorded material from their early 80s heyday, it's destined to be the classic album everyone has long awaited from this magical group.

Led by guitarist Thaen Rasmussen and vocalist/bassist Aaron Zimpel (who have also had roles in various bands such as Heathen, Metal Church, Vicious Rumors, Release and Control), the integrity of their original sound is fully maintained and should please anyone who has followed the band through the years or owned any of their heavily circulated demo tapes. A 12-page color booklet with liner notes written by San Francisco metal legend Ron Quintana (KUSF/Metal Mania), cover art by Mark Devito (Motorhead) and packed with lyrics and photos, completes this magnificent and much anticipated release. Coming soon!

Ron Keel

Ron Keel started his music career with a Tennessee-based band known as Lust. He came to prominence with his band Steeler, which featured Yngwie Malmsteen, Rik Fox and Mark Edwards. Steeler became one of L.A.'s hottest acts, but could not withstand the test of time. Malmsteen was the first to leave, opting to play with the band Alcatrazz (featuring Graham Bonnet) before achieving success with his own band.

However, Steeler was able to record one self-titled album, released in 1984 on Shrapnel Records. At one point, Steeler had the highest selling independent record of all-time.

After the demise of Steeler , Ron formed a new band and simply called it Keel. The band quickly secured a major record deal with Gold Mountain / A&M Records. Keel toured the world and sold 3 to 4 million records throughout its duration. KISS vocalist/bassist Gene Simmons produced two of Keel's albums: The Right to Rock and The Final Frontier. The band regrouped in 2008 and are touring to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

Outside of Keel, Ron also plays country music, sometimes performing under the name "Ronnie Lee Keel." In 2000, Ron formed IronHorse, which mixed country with hard rock. He left the band in 2007 to focus on other aspects of his career. He also performed as part of a Brooks & Dunn tribute band in the Country Superstars Tribute at the Fitz Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Prior to reforming Keel, Ron formed a band in 2008 called K2 Featuring Ron Keel, which performed many of the songs throughout his career

Power Metal, often pronounced dead, is still alive and even open for innovation. With their first album A Spark of Deity SOLAR FRAGMENT manage to give traditional melodic metal a fresh and modern twist.

"Yet another" Power Metal band from Germany? In the last years Heavy Metal has strongly shifted towards Death Metal and Metalcore, while Power Metal almost became a dying breed. Thus it is great to see a young emerging band proving that well-made Power Metal is still an important part of the metal landscape. SOLAR FRAGMENT and their debut release A Spark of Deity will convince fans of traditional and modern metal alike...
